Being Quiet

I have had the book of Genesis on my mind lately so I believed the Lord wanted me to press in.  I’m going to start in chapter 1: 26

And God said, Let us make man in our image.

So here we see God begin the first process to man’s creation. Scripture states “make man in our image” it doesn’t reference make a God in our image but instead references “man in our image”

Not sure why I needed to clarify it but I felt led because it is vital that it is understood God did not create a God, he created a man.

Yes, he gave man dominion over all things but what does that really mean?

I was in a conversation with my husband and another with a friend, and I asked the question…if God knew before hand and gave satan the liberty to enter the garden and approach Eve, knowing what the result would be, why did he allow it?

I’m not questioning God or trying to indicate or lead anyone away or provoke beliefs, it was a question of genuine curiosity.

I had several answers given to me,

However the one that I agree with, they were given a free will to choose, and God wanted them

to choose Him but I needed something more because it’s hard to wrap my mind around God wanting them to intentionally fail because He knew what they would do.

So I did dig a little deeper and believed I had to go back to the root of his foundational purpose, which is LOVE.

With that thought in mind I’m now to the point in scripture that God created Eve as Adam’s helpmate.

I’m not going to give all the details because I really hope you choose to search the scriptures yourself but He created Eve from the rib of man.

As they became more aware and was one, they grew in the garden together but then something transitions. The enemy comes slithering in and the separation begins. We have Eve – who was deceived and Adam who became disobedient.

God didn’t give them a second chance, their consequences took them straight out of the garden and the life they once lived was no longer.

My entire point to this thought to is really reflected from 1 Corinthians 14:34-35. “Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.”

‭‭I do realize I am walking through a door of controversy that is wrapped around the scripture, but I’m not here to debate anything. This is a thought to ponder and this is for that purpose only.

When you read the scripture, “the women should keep silent in the church”, I had to ask the question Lord, what about the women in the Bible that you used in such mighty and powerful ways Esther, which is one of my favorite stories of a little orphan girl who went before the king at all cost disregarding her own life, again, I have to go back to the root of the foundation to God’s process, LOVE.

Let’s think about this for a minute, God loves us so much that he sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for us.  Love was his motivation.

So when we go back to the garden, when satan came in and deceived Eve, for some reason, she stepped outside of the covenant she had with Adam and God and believed what satan said.

Now, if we go back to Corinthians when Paul was teaching women should be silent in the church, I don’t believe it was for the reasons of making a woman feel invaluable, or demeaning her because scripture teaches us that we should each work out our own salvation.

Yes, husband and wife, the two shall become one and what happened in the garden was a perfect example that women can be DECEIVED which is a perfect example of why husbands should be the protector.

If I’m looking at it from the prospect of God’s LOVE I’m encouraged to believe because the two became one and the husband became the head of the household therefore, he is to take on the leadership of spiritual matters and impart it to his wife, therefore keeping her in that covenant that women do not have to go outside of the home to seek the truth and spiritual matters, I believe because God loves us He needs us to be protected.

God used Esther, Rahab, Naomi,

Ruth and many other women in the Bible to move, mightedly on his behalf.

God fashioned women. Women are His workmanship. His spirit lives within her, the word is seeded within her.

I’ll tell you, when I was single, God became my husband, he became the head of my home, He spoke things to me, led me in spiritual matters and led me into places no man has ever.

I do believe God’s intention was that women would not be so easily deceived, He loves us enough that He provided that responsibility to man as a way to protect. So, I do not believe women are to be kept quiet in the church as some propose because I do believe God will use women in the church to edify, build and encourage.

Again, let me clarify, this is not a debate but is just a “Thought to Ponder”.

My name is Kim Brasher. I started writing back in 2015 not ever really believing I would go any further than just encouraging myself. As I have grown in my relationship with my Heavenly Father, I discovered writing is a gift I have, and as I began to share it with others the Lord encouraged me to go wider with it.

Thoughts to Ponder are just that, something to meditate over, something to consider. How does it relate to you? There is no right or wrong in your answer, we are all on a journey and we each grow differently at different places.

My prayer is that you will be blessed by reading and may you become encouraged. Please feel free to leave your feedback, as it is always welcomed.
