Suddenly

I saw a post this past week that read, “I serve a God that shifts things suddenly”.

As I pondered over it, the keyword that stood out to me was “suddenly”. So I began my short investigation into it.

I am no stranger to the word, there are times when I do things without giving it a second thought. Sometimes the outcome is for my good, but then there are times when it can work against me. It’s in those moments when the outcome is not good that I am quickly reminded how easily I can get ahead of God.

Referencing from the Bible “suddenly” it is described as a moment when God surprisingly breaks into time and space with an intervention of the Kingdom.

The Greek word translated suddenly, means without warning or unforeseen.

With that said I think of the many times myself or others that have been prying for specific things in our lives and they don’t happen, when it doesn’t move as quickly as one would like discouragement sets in.

Today I felt the Holy Spirit impress upon me the “suddenly” will happen when we are prepared.

You might be wondering what do I mean by that, I’m glad you’re thinking it, here’s what I mean….

I work in construction as an office assistant. With it comes many hats, many responsibilities and lots of areas I had no knowledge of but because I have experience in a lot of things it has aided me in my knowledge of learning new things.

For two years I have handled the companies Insurance audit, I was fearful and most uncertain about what I was doing, am I documenting correctly, have I collected the correct information, am I reading the requirements correctly, am I submitting what the auditor is requesting.

Because I would become so itnaudated with overwhelming thoughts my mind would play with excuses, giving myself excuse to aide me if something was wrong but in my heart I knew those thoughts didn’t hold accountability purposes, so instead I would pray and ask the Lord for favor and wisdom to guide me through the process. This year it was a “suddenly” moment when it came time for the audit. I had no fears, no apprehensions, no uncertainties, the audit went smooth leaving me with a renewed confidence in myself.

When we are prepared and without fears or apprehensions, when we trust and rely on the Lords wisdom and guidance He will “suddenly” shift things in our lives leading and directing us into our call.

In 2 Chronicles 29:36, it reads, Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done “suddenly”.

There was a process, Hezekiah had an intentional plan to restore the temple, they went through it preparing and just like that it “suddenly” happened.

I encourage you today, prepare yourself in those areas, allow yourself to become ready for the “suddenly” to happen for you.

About Me

My name is Kim Brasher. I started writing back in 2015 not ever really believing I would go any further than just encouraging myself. As I have grown in my relationship with my Heavenly Father, I discovered writing is a gift I have, and as I began to share it with others the Lord encouraged me to go wider with it.

Thoughts to Ponder are just that, something to meditate over, something to consider. How does it relate to you? There is no right or wrong in your answer, we are all on a journey and we each grow differently at different places.

My prayer is that you will be blessed by reading and may you become encouraged. Please feel free to leave your feedback, as it is always welcomed.
