My hubby and I were talking one morning about my “Thoughts to Ponder”, he said, it appears that you get your most reflections while driving. I said, well that’s when I do the most talking to the Lord.
Although, that is not complete truth because I do talk with the Lord quite a bit, but it left me to ponder over my time in my prayer room, daily.
I generally start my morning at 4:30. I have my normal routines make my coffee, grab me a cup and head to my prayer room.
I meditate, I listen to praise music, pretty much anything the Lord leads me in.
However, our conversation really provoked me into how much time in my prayer room is really dedicated to listening? I love the Lord with all my heart, I love when he speaks to me, I love when he uses me, but I really reflected over in depth that intimate communication and if I’m being honest, every day it’s not like that because some days even in my prayer room I recognize I am busy writing and reading so my thoughts lead me today to reevaluate my time with the Lord one on one.
In Psalm 46:10 it reads Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”
or Matthew 6:6 – “But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.”
It is only when we become still can we know the deep things of Gods heart.
I believe quiet time with the Lord is our opening that grants Him into our lives on a more intimate level. In return we are offered opportunities to change our hearts and our minds, it’s a time to reflect and it’s a time we become more in-tune with His Spirit moving in our lives.
It’s also important to remind ourselves that growing in this unity with Jesus is not a journey we are meant to walk alone in, if that was the case Jesus would not have had a need for the disciples.
I love my morning time in my
Prayer room, I want to be more attentive, become more quiet. I want to walk out onto the battlefield suited up securely in my
Spiritual Armor.
So, I ask you today, if you have that quality time with your Heavenly Father, what are you hearing?
