Are You Ready For Battle

This morning I was reading in Ephesians 6 verses 10-18 about the Armor of God. it reads: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Now, this is good teaching but my question’s I have to ask: when you put on your armor and go out into the world are you in the world or of the world? Are you up beat or beat down when you get home from the hustle and bustle of the day? Is your joy full and over flowing or do you feel chewed and swallowed up?
I understand this completely and just last week during my reading time I came across something Priscilla Shirer said: she made the statement that we should put our undergarments on before we try to put the armor on. What does she mean by this? I’m glad you asked. Lets look back up at scripture.
The whole point to wearing the armor is so that we go prepared to stand firm and not be shaken or made fearful. It’s to help us stay in the path of light standing firm on the truth of God’s words and promises for our lives. It’s to help us walk in a life of peace. It’s to help us to not be offended when the fiery darts come at us. Without the armor we are in a terrible mess, so, are we reaping the benefits of the armor, or, are we still struggling through the day hoping we won’t drown before night fall?
When you are ready to go out into the world do you run out the door naked? Of course you don’t, at least I would hope not:) I’m sure the the majority of us are going to put on some types of undergarments for added protection before we put our outer clothes on, right? So why would we not want to spend our morning time in prayer seeking him first, putting on the word of God, being fueled with his spirit, feasting on His words, getting our tools together then put our armor on with the power and authority behind it to go fourth and put the enemy back in his place. Are you ready, do you have your undergarments on did you spend the time getting all of your armor together?

Blessings be with you.

My name is Kim Brasher. I started writing back in 2015 not ever really believing I would go any further than just encouraging myself. As I have grown in my relationship with my Heavenly Father, I discovered writing is a gift I have, and as I began to share it with others the Lord encouraged me to go wider with it.

Thoughts to Ponder are just that, something to meditate over, something to consider. How does it relate to you? There is no right or wrong in your answer, we are all on a journey and we each grow differently at different places.

My prayer is that you will be blessed by reading and may you become encouraged. Please feel free to leave your feedback, as it is always welcomed.
