ROADBLOCKS

Have you ever made the decision to follow a vision or dream God placed in your heart only to find yourself frustrated because it appeared as though things weren’t really heading in that direction? Yesterday, in a comment that was made the word that really spoke volume to me was “Roadblock”.

There are times when we we encounter roadblock’s that slow us down causing the vision or dream to take a little longer than we anticipated it to. I’m here today to assure you that it’s not because God won’t fulfill those desires but sometimes its simply because it becomes another step to building our faith.
In Habakkuk 2, it reads, “These things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled” (Habakkuk 2:3).
When delay comes most of the time we will start asking the question, “When, Lord? When are you going to answer my prayer?” The frustration is not because we believe God is not answering us but for me personally has been because I didn’t like having to wait. Today’s society wants us to be inpatient. It dictates to us that we don’t have time to wait in a doctor’s office, a traffic light, or maybe even a parking space at Walmart (lol). We have all experienced roadblocks, it’s inevitable. Jesus himself waited……..for 30 years. He was in the carpenter’s house before his ministry went into the cities.
So I ask the question: Why do we wait? my thoughts: I believe its because in the waiting we are being taught to trust God more and learn that his timing is perfect. The roadblocks of life can offer us the opportunity to accept God’s delay believing it will never destroy his purpose for us.
There have been times that I believed God was telling me no but today, living and experiencing the things in my life as I have I realize it’s not that he has been saying no, but instead He is teaching me there is more that I must learn.

Challenge today: From this moment, think about how you will respond to God’s roadblocks in your life in order to pursue your vision or dreams?

  2. My attempt at running through them definitely doesn’t work LOL – I must listen more and follow directions instead of trying to get through/over/under on my own. Good subject Kim!

About Me

My name is Kim Brasher. I started writing back in 2015 not ever really believing I would go any further than just encouraging myself. As I have grown in my relationship with my Heavenly Father, I discovered writing is a gift I have, and as I began to share it with others the Lord encouraged me to go wider with it.

Thoughts to Ponder are just that, something to meditate over, something to consider. How does it relate to you? There is no right or wrong in your answer, we are all on a journey and we each grow differently at different places.

My prayer is that you will be blessed by reading and may you become encouraged. Please feel free to leave your feedback, as it is always welcomed.
